I have genuine concerns about EndWar not being part of the official canon timeline since Future Soldier never acknowledged the events of that game. Things really did not help matters when other games in the Tom Clancy franchise did not acknowledge EndWar as well, since 3rd Echelon got disbanded during the events of Splinter Cell Conviction, and that game was released three years after EndWar’s release. On the topic of Rainbow Six, considering there is no game set in the 2020s, fitting EndWar into that particular series will be impossible unless someone made some gymnastics in writing future games or novels just to make everything fit together. No thanks to this discrepancy, it is impossible to keep EndWar in the same timeline as Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell. Story-wise, considering that Future Soldier made no reference of World War III happening, and the fact that it takes more than three years to recover froma World War, it is extremely difficult to consider EndWar canon.
The main concern I have is EndWar is at best a “what-if” story that contributed nothing to the Ghost Recon story. Maybe we should put all of the EndWar material in an “alternate timeline/alternate universe” section? ~~~~
