Ashenafi Abate is an Ethiopian soldier and a friend of Colonel Tesfaye Wolde. In 2009, during the Eritrean war, Abate and his command set up a base camp in an abandoned village. As the Ethiopians established a pattern of landmines, Abate had a map in his field headquarters. A Ghost Recon team infiltrated and captured Abate and the map.
