Boyer "Boston" Reed is an American pilot and playboy who works in smuggling for the Santa Blanca Cartel under Nidia Flores.
Reed used to work as a private aircraft pilot. One day a client asked him if he wanted to make a little extra money on the side. That client, an associate of Nidia Flores, put Reed in touch with El Boquita and within days, Reed began smuggling cocaine from Bolivia to Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas on a regular basis in his Socata TBM 700. He never flies over 18k feet high, skims the treetops and flies just above crashing waves when he crosses the border to evade radar. He lands in the desert with improvised airstrips made from generator-powered runway lights that his crew lays out for him. He has a weakness for women and parties.
He runs a secondary human trafficking ring in his province, Koani behind El Sueño's back with the help of two brothers - the "Undertakers".
Reed is according to his associates very hard to locate, as he prefers to stay undercover till the last moment. This becomes apparent during the smuggling operation.
Trivia[]
- Bowman mentions during the briefing on Reed that he has medical history of gonorrhea, "hep-c" and herpes. This makes Reed the only buchon in the cartel who is known to have STDs.
- If players decide to go after The Beauty Queen, they must kill Reed by disposing of cartel members near a makeshift airstrip, then using flight codes to signal Reed to land at the airstrip. The Ghosts then kill him through destroying his helicopter, ending the smuggling trade in Koani.
- Boston Reed is the only character you do not kill personally, because he is programmed to stay in his helicopter and hover over the airstrip. Only using an EMP drone and disabling his helicopter causes him to come out of it.
Behind the Scenes[]
- Defeating Reed will reward the player with 5 skill points, the Aviator Sunglasses character customization item and The Warhawk, a unique variant of the L115A3 sniper rifle.
