The FN-FAL carbine is a Belgian assault rifle. It has been one of the most widely used battle rifles of the 20th century. More that 70 countries have adopted one of its countless variants. Its shortcomings are high recoil, its weight, and its size. But it has a strong reputation for extreme reliability, functionality and ease of use. The Para variant is slightly shorter and lighter. It fires 7.62mm rounds at 600rpm.
