Operation Mercy Sword is a mission conducted by Ghost Recon in 2010. It is the first operation during the Colombia conflict against the MFLC. By completing mission, unlocked AK-47 Assault. Challenge rewards: multiplayer skins. The only mission where the Veteran difficulty is varied by adding one enemy to the camp.
Briefing[]
Welcome to Colombia, gentlemen. As you already know, there was ah explosion at the american embassy in Bogota a few days ago. We suspect the MFLC, a radical paramilitary movement financed by drug cartels, was responsible for the attack. It's the latest in a long string of bombings that have escalated into an undeclared war. As such, we've been invited in by the colombian government to help deal with the situation.
And just because nothing's ever easy, we've got another reason to get involved here. The MFLK are also bankrolling the attempts to resurrect the communist regime in Cuba, and we can't let that happen. Alpha squad is on the ground in Havana, but you've got plenty to do here.
So, it's up to you to help clean up the mess on this end. Buckle up, because we're putting you in the field immediately.
We've got some archaeologists at a dig site near an MFLC hotspot. The eggheads didn't evac when they were ordered to, and the bad guys noticed.
We already have a team going after the scientists, but it turns out that some aid workers in the area have already been taken hostage in that same operation. While the MFLC concentrates on the archaeologists, you're going in to get the charity workers out.
You'll be inserted by ground vehicle near the camp. Locate the hostages and extract them. Secure the camp while you're in the field, and then get out of there with the hostages intact. All of the hostages heed to make it out alive on this one, so be careful.
Good luck.
