Operation Greenstone is a Ghost Recon operation that takes place during the events of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint. And the operation is a week after Sentinel Corp.'s CEO Trey Stone started Operation: Citadel.
Operation Briefing
In 2025, a naval cargo ship, USS Seay, had been mysteriously sunk near the Auroa Archipelago, home of Skell Tech. Following this event, the U.S. government loses contact with the island. The President immediately orders the Pentagon to send in the Ghosts under the direction of the CIA. CIA's Deputy Director Peter Miles and Ghost Recon Commander Scott Mitchell send in a platoon size of 32 men and women into 4 Ghost teams under Lt. Colonel Anthony "Nomad" Perryman's leadership to figure what happened there.
Events of the Operation
The 32 Ghosts were sent to the island aboard the USS Wasp. Meant to infiltrate the main island by air, their 4 Gyps helicopters never made landfall as they were taken out by a swarm of Legion drones. Only Nomad, Holt, Vasily, Fixit, Fury, Josiah Hill and 2 male Ghosts are the survivors of the crash, with Weaver being executed by Cole D. Walker, who leads a group of rogue Ghosts and military specialists called the Wolves. They also killed Weaver's nearby teammates. As for Midas, his fate was assumed MIA, because his Bolivian scarf is a MEMENTO MORI on Nomad's left shoulder strap. The operation is still a go, even though it has been compromised.

The Ghosts managed to disable the drone control program, with the help of Jace Skell and his allies, and even destroyed a submarine carrying autonomous drones that were programmed to kill world leaders and key politicians, before those drones starting World War 3. Furthermore, this lets the Ghosts to contact command for help, yet also causing a sector of Legion drones to turn unintentionally fully autonomous and self-learning by Skell's virus. The swarm, now completely independent of human control, resumed Operation Citadel and began running numerous subroutines, displaying emergent behavior.
