The United States Army is the ground force for the United States Armed Forces. The Ghosts are a subordinate unit of the U.S. Army, being assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group. The Army sometimes joins with other nations in UN and NATO operations.
The U.S. Army was founded in 1775 when the 13 colonies united to form the United States. Throughout the centuries up to and today, the army has focused their strengths to defend the U.S. and to protect American interests. It has gained much experience as a result of their extensive participation in warfare, they are also one of the most technologically advanced armies in the world. Weapons are primarily sourced from within the US, but weapons from Europe are used as well. It is the largest branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and participates in many international conflicts: with Iraq and Afghanistan highlighted as the most recent.
