Overview Future Soldier Wildlands Breakpoint

The Kriss Vector submachine gun was developed by Transformational Defense Industries (TDI). Its name comes from Indonesian sword or large knife. Production of this weapon commenced in 2009. At some point the company became known as Kriss USA and the weapon was rebranded as Vector.

It is a delayed-blowback operated, selective fire weapon, which fires from the closed bolt. The Kriss Vector is chambered for .45 ACP ammunition. It is also available chambered in .40 S&W and 9x19 mm Parabellum. The Kriss Vector uses a patented operating system, which reduces recoil and muzzle climb. It absorbs and redirects the recoil force downwards, thus improving overall weapon control. Developers claim that this submachine gun generates 60% less felt recoil and 95% less muzzle climb than contemporary designs. The Kriss can be fired single-handedly with adequate accuracy. This SMG has an effective range of about 100 meters. Weapon can be easily field-stripped just with removal of two push-pins.

An ambidextrous fire mode selector has settings for semi-auto, two-round burst and full-auto. It is located about the middle of the upper receiver. A separate ambidextrous safety switch is located above the pistol grip. Cocking handle is located on the left side of the receiver. It folds over, when not in use and does not reciprocate when the gun is fired. Spent case ejection window is located on the right side.

The Kriss Vector is fed from the standard 13-round Glock magazines. Optional extension kit provides 30-round capability. Magazine housing is located in front of the pistol grip.

This SMG comes with a side-folding polymer buttstock. Another accessory rail is mounted below the barrel and is compatible with laser pointers, vertical grips, tactical flashlights and other accessories. Two additional rails can be installed on either side of the receiver.

The Kriss Vector is a .45 caliber modern submachine gun, most notably used by the Ghosts in various operations. They were assigned to CQC Specialists during the Sri Lankan conflict.
